Why we built this
Most finance calculators online ask for your email, bury scare-me advertising around the result, or hide their assumptions so deep that you cannot tell whether the answer means anything. We wanted the opposite: a page that answers one question clearly, shows how it got there, and does not follow you home afterward.
Every calculation runs client-side. There is no server round trip for your numbers, no profile being assembled about your income, and no email sequence waiting to trigger. If you close the tab, the numbers go with you.
Where the reference data comes from
- Federal tax parameters come from IRS revenue procedures covering inflation adjustments for each tax year, including standard deduction amounts and contribution limits.
- Inflation figures use the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Cryptocurrency prices come from a public market data API, refreshed roughly every minute and clearly timestamped.
Anything we cannot verify, we do not model. State taxes are left as a flat rate you enter yourself, because a national average would be misleading for almost everyone.
Questions people ask first
Are these calculators really free?
Yes. Every calculator on FigureCrunch is free: no account, no paywall, no email asked for, and no limit on how many times you use it.
Do you collect the numbers I enter?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser and the figures you type are never transmitted or stored. We do not ask for your name, email, income or account details.
Which tax year do your calculators use?
Both the current and prior US tax years are available, including the 2026 federal brackets, standard deduction amounts, Social Security wage base and contribution limits. Select the year inside each calculator.
How accurate are the results?
The arithmetic is exact and the reference data comes from official sources (IRS revenue procedures, BLS CPI releases and live crypto market data). Estimates exclude credits, local rules, fees and lender specific terms, so always confirm with your lender or a tax professional before acting.
Can I link to a specific calculator?
Please do. Each tool has its own permanent URL and can be shared or embedded by linking directly.
